SCREAMING SPACE ROCKS — STORYBOARD AND ASSET DEVELOPMENT
WORKFLOW USING PHOTOSHOP & DAVINCI RESOLVE
BREAKDOWN
Screaming Space Rocks is a 15-second animated sci-fi comedy short built around a simple fake-product premise: a hungry character discovers an interdimensional vending machine, buys a bag of Screaming Space Rocks, and realizes that the candy literally screams. The comedy comes from treating the absurd situation with complete sincerity and giving the character a natural, expressive performance instead of a flat narrator-style delivery.
CONCEPT AND SCRIPT
The final sequence follows four clear beats. The character enters the strange convenience store and casually says, “Man... I’m hungry.” He notices the product and reacts with genuine excitement: “Whoa... Screaming Space Rocks? No way.” After the vending machine dispenses the correct bag through its internal mechanism, he picks it up and says, “I wonder how these taste...” He opens the package, the tiny green, blue, and purple candy rocks scream, and he holds a silent comedic reaction while processing why his snack is yelling at him.
ASSET DEVELOPMENT
I created a reusable visual system before generating motion: a character sheet, the interdimensional store environment, a standalone vending-machine reference, the Screaming Space Rocks package, a three-creature lineup, and a four-panel storyboard. The assets were developed through Higgsfield using GPT Image 2, then refined and corrected in Adobe Photoshop so the product design, character, environment, and creature scale remained consistent from shot to shot.
AI VIDEO GENERATION
I converted the final concept into a structured JSON prompt for Seedance 2.0 Mini. The prompt controlled the shot sequence, vending-machine physics, dialogue, voice performance, background ambience, product continuity, creature scale, and the final silent reaction. I generated three versions of the sequence because no single result contained every strongest moment. I selected the best scenes from the three generations and combined them in post-production.
VOICE DIRECTION
The character was directed as a funny adult animated-comedy personality with natural reactions, casual humor, small pauses, and expressive emotional changes. He sounds like a person thinking out loud, not an announcer reading lines. His performance moves from tired hunger, to amused discovery, to playful curiosity, and finally to shocked confusion when the candy screams.
POST-PRODUCTION
In DaVinci Resolve 21, I assembled the selected Seedance shots, tightened the comedy timing, balanced the dialogue, arranged the music and ambience, added vending-machine and screaming sound effects, and created the final edit. Adobe Photoshop was also used to clean and refine the package artwork, correct visual details, and prepare consistent assets for the animation workflow.

BROTHER SAUCE — AI COMEDY COMMERCIAL
BROTHER SAUCE — STORYBOARD AND ASSET DEVELOPMENT
BREAKDOWN
Brother Sauce is a 14-second animated comedy commercial built around an absurd family-reveal premise. A hungry man is about to eat a living chicken nugget when a stranger bursts into the kitchen and warns, “Don’t eat that! He’s family!” A DNA scanner confirms a 99.9% brother match, turning a simple snack into a dramatic family emergency.
CONCEPT AND SCRIPT
The sequence escalates quickly: the Hungry Man raises the nugget toward his mouth; the Stranger interrupts him; the scanner announces the match; the Hungry Man reacts, “What?”; and the nugget quietly whispers, “Use the sauce.” The Hungry Man pulls a bottle of Brother Sauce from his right trouser pocket, pours the red sauce over the nugget, and the nugget rises in a glowing red-and-gold transformation. The commercial ends on the product shot and the line, “Brother Sauce. Keep it in the family.”
ASSET DEVELOPMENT
I built a consistent reference system before animation: character sheets for the Hungry Man and Stranger, the living chicken nugget, the DNA scanner, the Brother Sauce bottle, the kitchen environment, and two storyboard variations. These assets established the stylized 3D family-animation look, warm kitchen palette, readable character silhouettes, product-label typography, and exact visual beats needed for continuity.
AI VIDEO GENERATION
The story was converted into a detailed JSON prompt with locked character references, prop continuity, dialogue, camera beats, comedy timing, and exact product text. Multiple generated variations were reviewed, and the strongest result was selected as the final 14-second Brother Sauce commercial. The prompt preserved the 99.9% BROTHER scanner result, the whispered “Use the sauce” line, the glowing nugget transformation, and the closing slogan.
CREATIVE DIRECTION
The performance style uses sincere dramatic acting to sell a ridiculous premise. The Stranger treats the family discovery as an emergency, the Hungry Man reacts with confused innocence, and the tiny nugget delivers its line quietly. The contrast between emotional seriousness and fake-product advertising creates the comedy.
