WORK FLOW USING PHOTOSHOP & DAVINCI RESOLVE
Breakdown
OTOVA began as a concept for a futuristic wearable audio device, with the name inspired by “oto,” the Japanese word for sound, combined with “va” to give it a sleek, modern finish. I started by designing the earpiece itself before moving into the commercial, using Nano Banana and Google Gemini to generate early product concepts through highly specific written prompts and visual references.
My design inspiration pulled from the futuristic elegance of Horizon Zero Dawn and Final Fantasy, and once I had a strong base image, I refined details in Photoshop, including adding a fictional language element inspired by Jak and Daxter that spells out “OTOVA.” After the product design was established, I built a storyboard for the commercial, drawing inspiration from the adventurous tone of Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, which led to the creation of a Japanese female explorer character and a cinematic escape narrative.
I then repeated the same workflow for each shot: generating images with precise prompts, refining them in Photoshop, and then bringing them into Higgsfield and Kling 3.0 to generate motion using highly descriptive prompts and carefully planned sound direction. Because video-generation credits were limited, every prompt had to be deliberate and detailed to maximize quality and accuracy. Once all the shots were created, I assembled everything in DaVinci Resolve Studio, where I handled transitions, color work, sound design, and final polish. I also recorded some custom sounds myself and used EQ, high-pass and low-pass filtering, and additional sound shaping to make the first activation of the earpiece feel more futuristic and immersive. After final sound and visual adjustments, I exported the completed commercial.
